Overcoming Nuclear Danger
December 2007 marked the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty in Washington by Presidents Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan. On the occasion of this anniversary, The World Political Forum and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University held an international conference entitled, “Overcoming Nuclear Danger.”
The hope is that we can still be able to extract lessons from the ambitious zeroing out of an entire category of nuclear weapons and apply them to identify actions that should be taken to minimize the risks of nuclear terrorism and nuclear war.
The conference assembled 45 experts from Russia, the United States, and other nations for serious discussions of these challenges.
“Overcoming Nuclear Danger” is edited by Andrei Grachev and published by Marsilio Editore.
