Honorary Supreme Court Justice Chief of Senegal, he was member of the International Olympic Committee executive board (1973-2002), where he chaired the Ethics Commission. In 1972 he proposed the concept of the right to development as a human right, which was adopted in 1986 in a UN General Assembly Resolution as an “inalienable human right”.
