Jean Francois Trémeaud

Graduated at the Intitute of Political Studies of the University of Paris (Sciences-Po Paris), he spent most of his career at the ILO (International Labour Organization) Headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland). In 1970 he became Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director-General in charge of Technical Cooperation and in 1974 Member, and subsequently Director, of the Office of the Director-General. In 1989 he was appointed Assistant Director-General in charge of the ILO Technical Cooperation Department and of the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin (Italy). In 1994 he was designated Executive Director of the ILO and his responsibilities expanded to the overall technical cooperation programme and the ILO Offices worldwide. He lectured at Turin, Aosta and US Universities on labour matters, their evolution at the international level, and their impact on the European Union (post-graduate courses). He was Consultant of the Compagnia di San Paolo (Turin). Actually Mr Tremeaud is  Advisor to the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Member of the Advisory Board of the European Policy Centre (Brussels) and of the Scientific Committee of the French National Institute of Labour.
