Giulietto Chiesa
He is an Italian journalists since 1979, for several years reporter from Moscow for the national newspaper “La Stampa”. He presently is editorialist and political commentator for the newspaper “L’Unità”, columnist and commentator for “Il Manifesto” and other Italian newspapers and reviews. Since 2005 he also runs a column on the European magazine Galatea. In 1999-2000 he founded “Megachip-Democrazia nella Comunicazione” an association which critically analyses the functioning of the media mainstream. In 2002 he received the Prize Culture of Peace. He is author of several books of political content, among these he published “Superclan” (Feltrinelli, 2003), “The Infinite War” (Feltrinelli, 2002), “Afghanistan” (Guerini, 2001), reportage on the facts of Genoa, published from Einaudi in 2001, “Le Carceri segrete della Cia in Europa” and “Zero. Perché la versione ufficiale sull’11 settembre è un falso” in 2007. In October 2007 the International Film Festival of Rome has hosted “Zero, inchiesta sull’11 settembre” a documentary film directed by Franco Fracassi and Francesco Trento and promoted by Giulietto Chiesa. In 2008 Chiesa with other journalists, writers and intellectuals gave life to Pandora TV, an experiment of independent television. He has been Member of the European Parliament from 2004 till 2009.
