Giancarlo Chevallard
Ambassador Giancarlo Chevallard took a Law degree at the University of Turin in 1966. He was Director of the “United Nations Office”, External Relations in Brussels (2004-2006), Ambassador, Head of the Commission Delegation in Tel Aviv (2000-2004) and Head of the “Security Affairs” department in the External relations in Brussels (1994-2000). He also was Head of the newly created “Foreign policy planning” unit in Brussels, attached to President Delors cabinet (1991-1994) and Head of the EC Washington Delegation Press and Information Service (1986-1990). From 1981 to 1986 he was Director of the Milan Commission Representation and Member of the Spokesman Group from 1974 to 1981. He is European Affairs Counselor and Member of the Governing Boards of the “European Policy Center” (Brussels), of ISPI (Milan), of Center on federalism studies (Turin) and of the Scientific Committee of the World Political Forum (Turin). He is President of Paralleli - Euro-Mediterranean Institute. He is Lecturer in specialized courses in academic, diplomatic and defense institutes. He wrote ”L’Italia vista dall’Europa” , a book published by Rubbettino Editore in September 2008 and he is also author of various publications on academic journals and editorial pages.
