From Global Warning to Global Policy

June 4, 2009

The conference “From Global Warning to Global Policy”, organized by the World Political Forum and by the Club of Rome, took place in Turin on 28-29 March 2008 and dealt with issues of great importance, such as climate change, crisis of ecosystems, excessive and not sustainable consumption of energy, devastations and diminishing of water resources.

The meeting analysed the tragic consequences of global warming, leading to huge migrations of environmental refugees that cause local and regional conflicts, and the question of poverty.

According to the distinguished personalities who participated in the conference, the main problem regarding solutions is not in the limits of technology or of finance. The key problem is in the non-sufficiency of world rules accepted by everybody and in the weakness of the solutions proposed by the world political institutions, that should be able to make the community of States, of business world and of international civil society act to reach the common goals. The possible solutions indicated by the speakers are published in this book.

“From Global Warning to Global Policy”‚ is edited by Andrei Grachev and Carla Marchese and published by Marsilio Editore.
