Energy for a Sustainable Future

“Energy for a Sustainable Future”, was held on 8 October 2009 within the frame of the initiatives “Uniamo le Energie - Joining our Energies”, promoted by the Region of Piedmont. It focused around the subjects related to the role and importance of energetic resources for the checkerboard of international politics and global governance, but even for their concrete applications on the single territories.
The meeting in fact kept on the strand of the WPF related to environment and was at the same time the occasion to make the point on the European strategies of 20/20/20 and investments in renewable energies, as well as on the new scenarios opened by the current crisis and by the new approach to environment of Pres. Obama’s administration. Aim of the panel was in fact to promote the dialogue between experts and institutions, but also between the European Union and the USA in view of the UNFCCC meeting to be held in Copenhagen in next December. The recent agreements between FIAT and Chrysler on the common engagement for the production of eco-sustainable cars, made Turin in particular the symbolic platform for such a discussion.
