The international conference “Environment: From Global Warnings to Media Alert” was promoted by the WPF together with the Province of Venice and the Ministry for Environment.
Journalists and news executives from 29 countries representing six continents met in San Servolo (Venice), Italy, on October 10 and 11 to challenge the international media to improve public understanding of the impact of climate change.

The famous report “The Limits to Growth” issued by the Club of Rome in 1972, as well as other warnings formulated in other reports and documents reflected the voices of the scientific community, of the ecologist movements and the civil society, that were worried about the dramatic consequences of an uncontrolled human activity and of a chaotic economic development, for the future of humanity and the state of health of our planet.
