Graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature, journalist, he was Commissioner for Public Education in Turin Province between 1970 and 1975 and President of Turin’s Repertory Theatre in the same period. He was then elected as a Member of Parliament for three terms and Undersecretary for Cultural Heritage. He was also President of Piedmont’s Regional Council (1995-1998) and promoter of the “General Estates” of Piedmont. He is presently President of the Foundation for Books, Music and Cultural Activities and Executive Director of The World Political Forum.
